About the Frome Ukulele Festival

The 2020 Frome Ukulele Festival is on Saturday 28th March. Similar to last year, there will be lots of workshops, an Open Mic, an evening concert and a Battle of the Bands. Tickets this year will be sold by The Cheese and Grain. See Ticket Prices below which also explains service charges.

Activities will be based around the town – which is hilly!

Rook Lane will be our base for the day and will house registration – open from 12 noon until 5 pm.

The Cheese and Grain will host the evening concert and meal and will sell ALL tickets.

23 Bath Street will again host the Battle of The Bands.

Workshops will be at Rook Lane, The Cornerhouse, The Three Swans and The Granary (The George Hotel).

Tea/coffee/cake will be available from 12-5pm at Rook Lane (our base for the day) and an evening meal is available (pre-booked) at The Cheese and Grain.

Tickets for the Festival are available here.

Tickets for the evening concert and meal only are available here.

What's Happening

Workshops (included in your ticket)

There will be workshops in SINGING, SONG ARRANGEMENTS, BLUES, and JAMMING – and, new for this year, PERCUSSION, a SLOW JAM and PICKING AND STRUMMING. You sign up on the day at Rook Lane. First come, first served. Where possible, workshops will be offered twice. All workshops are included in your festival ticket.

Open Mic

Do you fancy performing? Put your name down as soon as you arrive and perform on stage at Rook Lane. Hosted by the magnificently be-suited Carl Sutterby! Will there be a SING ALONG? Of course, bring your uke and percussion.

Evening Concert

Hosted by The Cheese and Grain, our evening concert can also include street food, but this must be booked in advance. It was amazing last year and included vegetarian and vegan options. After the Battle of the Bands Final, Bath based supergroup The Mother Pluckers will take to the stage, then we welcome Danilo Vignola, all the way from Italy, whose “fiery fingers” create his own Mediterranean style of playing, followed by our surprise guests – Feral Beryl (ooops – there’s the surprise gone!) The Mighty Frukes close proceedings with lots of new songs (well, new to them.)

Battle of the Bands

Won by The Mother Pluckers last year, the competition will be run by the Bath-based belles. There is no extra charge to enter – but all band members need a Full Festival Ticket. For the rules, please click here. To enter, email
